How secure is HidEM?

We take the security provided by HidEM very seriously. If you find any security related bug in this program, please contact us, so that we may investigate it.


What happens if HidEM crashes or someone terminates the program?

HidEM is very secure and stable in the way that it protects your files and folders, so even if a malicious user somehow tries to terminate the program, HidEM will stay up and running the entire Windows session. The only way to unprotect your data while Windows is running is through HidEM.


How do I protect files or folders with HidEM?

HidEM gives a 'Lock' feature to suit the needs of people who prefer convenience and speed. It is ideal for people who are password protecting their files from casual, non-technical users.

You can lock files, folders and even drives using HidEM. To lock, drag and drop files and/or folders to the drop-zone or console window and then click 'Lock' button on the console window or 'Lock' menu. Once you’re done, the items will be locked and hidden simultaneously.

You can remove an item in HidEM by right-clicking it and selecting "Remove selected item" or drag and drop selected list to the Removal-Zone(1 of HidEM UI) icon on the top left corner of console window. Furthermore, you can multi-select as many items as you want and remove them from list as per your need. This helps you maintain your favorite locking list.

You can also protect programs (.exe) anywhere on your computer or in your program files folder, as in Outlook Express and other such programs that keeps data personal to you.


Can I protect 'internet favorites' (also known as 'bookmarks')?

Yes, you can protect 'internet favorites' (also known as 'bookmarks') using HidEM. To lock, just drag and drop your favorite links/ files from Internet Explorer or other such program - FireFox, Opera, Google Chrome, etc - to console window.


Can HidEM protect folders on my local network?

Yes, HidEM will provide access restrictions on your data against local network users.


What happens when the trial period expires?

During the 15 day trial period, a trial window will pop up every time you run HidEM.
When the trial period expires, just uninstall HidEM from your computer if you decided not to use.
Or you may purchase HidEM prior to your trial period by selecting the 'Buy Now' or 'Buy' button located on the bottom left corner of the Trial Screen. (Please refer to 'How do I purchase HidEM' section below.)


How do I purchase HidEM?

You can purchase the full version of HidEM by clicking the 'Buy Now' or 'Buy' button located on the bottom left corner of the Trial Screen.

How do I uninstall HidEM?

The un-installation procedure is very simple!
To uninstall HidEM completely, click 'Uninstall HidEM' menu on the bottom right corner of console window.

1. Removal-Zone Icon

Drag and drop selected list from List Box(2) to here(1) to remove and unprotect selected items.


2. List Box

Drag and drop files and/or folders to here(2) and then click 'Lock & Close' button(3) to protect.


3. 'Lock' Button

To protect items in HidEM, click here(3) then all of the items in HidEM will be protected and 'Drop-Zone' icon will be shown on your desktop.


4. 'Empty' Button

You can remove all of items in HidEM at once.


5. Count Box

It shows the number of items in HidEM.


6. 'List View' Button

Change the view of List Box(2) in detail.


7. 'Icon View' Button

Change the view of List Box(2) in simple.
